Is your red the same as my red?

Hey, Blogger! Eli Here.

Okay, Trevor and I are really into this YouTube account called Vsauce. Vsauce is led by a guy named Michael who explores all kinds of different topics about life. These topics range from "What if everyone jumped at once?" to "Is the five second rule true?", and Michael can get pretty scientific at times. One of my favorites is titled "Is your red the same as my red?"and let me tell you, it is trippy.

Think about it. Lets say you and I are looking at a banana. We both say, "This banana is yellow" and go our separate ways. That is what we were taught as children. In a classroom, a teacher could hold up a card with the color blue on it, but there could be twenty different variations of "blue" seen through different children's eyes. Everyone assumes that they are looking at the same color as everyone else. But what if we are looking at totally and completely different colors, but have no idea! What if my yellow is the same color as his purple, and vice versa?  This could also be applied to taste and possibly even hearing.
